Tinka and I are away in Yountville, CA, celebrating our 9th anniversary. We are staying at Hotel Villagio, Estate Yountville. We are liking it very much!

This is our first trip together to the Napa Valley area.

I haven't researched hotel prices in some time, and I don't know what y'all think, but current hotel pricing seems to have gone completely ! Hotel Villagio is on the lower end of the crazy hotel expense spectrum, but it is still luxurious and the service is fantastic and everything is very nice! Highly recommended!

Last night we enjoyed wonderful tasting menus at La Toque restaurant.

Did you try the truffle sandwich at La Toque?

Hi!

No; we both had a tasting menu. The service there was completely amazing. It was the nicest meal we've had in a long time.

We loved their "Love Potion" (modified to delete orgeat and pink dust): vodka, raspberries, lemon juice, Prosecco.

Ron

That looks great! I’m reserved for Hotel Yountville for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend … for a small fortune. I’ll check that place out - thanks!

Yountville (which we have not explored) seems small and cute compared to Downtown Napa (which we have not explored).

Will you be taking the Wine Train? I highly recommend it. Happy Anniversary!

Nice. Happy Anniversary, Ron and Tinka!

Time for a new Corvette for Tinka!

You’re walking distance from Bouchon Bistro, if you can get a table don’t miss it.

French Laundry is a must

And for fun Mustard’s for lunch

A stop at Opus and Silver Oak is a must

We used to live in the East Bay and a drive to Yountville was a regular event for us
The wine train is fun but it’s once and done

I looked into it, but it seemed kind of noisy. I picked La Toque instead.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Bouchon - roast chicken or the steak frites with bernaise sauce. I make a mean bernaise sauce but little joaquin literally had a tear of joy with Keller's

Mustards - Best Pork Chop ever

Bottega - rabbit ragout , yellowfin crudo

Dang forgot Tinka is vegetarian!

Happy Anniversary love birds!!!!!
