Hi
my problem is this:
I make a balance to the arm (with no weight)and after put on the stylus pressure gage 2 g.
now I make a measurement with a digital weight scale that show 2.3 g.
(the digital scale is ok)
why?
Thank you

Sorry, I don’t exactly understand your description of the problem but height of measurement affects VTF. It should be measured at record height.

When the weight on the arm scale is 2 gram (after I made the balance , floating…)
I make a measurement by a digital scale and the result is 2.3 gram

I had the 345 which is the 9" vers of the 407. Are you talking about the dynamic balance adjustment? the diff could be the headshell, is it by Ikeda or by someone else? The 0.3 gm margin can be influenced by a few variables. Depending on who's digital scale, i'd put my money on the digital scale vers the indices scribed on the 'arm.

Assuming that the digital scale is accurate and verified using a calibration weight, and its platform is measuring at the correct height above the platter, it looks like the Ikeda's dynamic downforce mechanism is not precisely calibrated. I've not used an Ikeda, but an old FR-64S was unerringly accurate in terms of VTF, despite its age.

My FR-64S`s VTF scale is accurate, too. Spot-on.
