In room recordings

In room recordings was the plan, did not take long to derail?

Why would I bother to go straight out via cables?

We all saw it.......Pax Romanus? Doubtful and unlikely.

Please attempt to embrace the challenge not declare it impossible?

False truths are great for confining progressive understanding and improvements. No brown stars for me thank you.

Confused, kindest regards, G.
You are doing "live" in room recordings right? Who's performing on the piano pieces from your first few vids?

I'm banned on YouTube but can still view the vids but sometimes I can't access the vid info- FYI.

Indeed, in room. France Clidat the high priestess of Liszt.

Kindest regards, G.
Well done!
The first vid reminds me of some 1960's DG recordings of piano recitals. In other words it sounds fine but a bit dated in terms of sound.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, just has something to do with the room more than the microphone placement. I assume that your recordings were done recently also.

Anyway, great vids and great system you have there! :)

Gentlemen, let's please honor the wishes of the OP of this thread. In home room recordings only. Some posts that were off topic have been deleted. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hopps on the ghost lick.
Thankyou G, never ceases to amaze me that you can get so much of the musical spectrum from just one driver… and great music!

Hoping if poss to find out the details on test 11 also.
Cheers
Graham

Tom, try not to be too aggressive in deleting posts. Was the General's reply shown in post #6 off topic? I agree about keeping the thread to in room recordings.

Thanks to the General's suggestion about Ms.Clidat's recordings, here is a minty one I located in Bulgaria:

Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody Rhapsody Espanol Vega 8013-16.jpg

Vega 8013-16

I believe there are 12 volumes in the set.

As a live recording the Webster Lewis on your system captures / reproduces a great deal of the 'in club' atmosphere. Certainly with digitization & YT compression much is lost but in this recording there are sufficient indicators (Meat left on the bone) to at least get a sip of the juice. Hats off for upping the show & tell game - iPhone recordings already seem passé. Care to share the mic info?

Sure,

The "Webster" was recorded using "Beyerdynamic M90x pro" microphones. Large condenser cardiod pairs.

The others were recorded using "Earthworks" small condenser hyper cardiod pairs.

The mics go straight into a "Canon XC-15" with no pre or post editing or production.

Kindest regards, G.

Personally I am very impressed by the Earthworks mics in test number six.

I got them from Studiocare in Liverpool. Tremendously helpful and enthused staff there entertained my obsessive queries and allowed me lashings of latitude, I have amassed a fairly broad mic collection whilst experimenting.

Kindest regards, G.

The above is a very good repress and the original is on Sonet.

Dear Morricab,

I believe the horn flare is vacuum formed plexi? Filip Keller at AER would be the correct person to inform us all on the flare.

Admirable. Post editing would rather skew an honest and worthy goal. Any incremental advances in sharing sounds is interesting and valuable. Thank you for sharing the Mic information... Those Beyerdynamic M90x pro's look interesting.

What is the main benefit you hear with them over not having them? I have only seen Pnoe without them.
