Had a listen to the new version Muons at the Windsor show, powered by a ceiling-high stack of Mark Levinson. Hard to believe, but the Elac room w/the $200 B6 bookshelf spkrs beat it in every category, except one - the Muons won worst sound of the show by a country mile.
God, I was NOT expecting this. I had been really looking fwd to seeing and hearing them. Visual impressions great, who can't but love the sexy, cinched design, like a Golden Age Hollywood actress sprayed head to toe in silver paint. And the build up was breathless, w/the sales team communicating the blank slate/unlimited budget/cost no object extravagance of the project to design them. And then that pretty much the whole design was reimagined for this updated model.
What a shame then, that the "music" had to start...

I have said this before but kef speakers will take on the character of what ever you hook them up to. I have heard kefs sound warm and mushy as well as hard and bright... Thanks to GP acoustics partnership deals i have never experienced them at their best at shows......
