Lampi B7 and Turntables

I love the Mahler 2, Ivan Fischer, from Channel Classics. Is there any LP that matches or betters that?

Have you heard Georg Solti conducting the London Symphony Orchestra with Heather Harper as soprano and Helen Watts as contralto in Mahler 2 on Decca? A stupendous sounding Mahler 3 on vinyl is The Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Metha with Maureen Forrester. This album was recorded in 1978 by Decca as well and sounds awesome.

As just to be clear on this: almost all recordings made by Jared sound fantastic and I also like his various Mahler recordings conducted by Fischer.

I heard a Solti - Mahler 2, not sure if it was the same one. That I wasn't impressed by, but that maybe because I use the Fischer for auditioning and at around 3 minute there is deep bass and explosion that I look for, which I didn't get on the Solti. Different style. I also like Claudio Abbado's Lucern Festival Orchestra blu ray of Mahler 5

interesting. What tubes have u used in the Lampi?

Main tubes are Psvane 101 D WE replicas , recti RCA 5U4GY JAN specification.
Before I tried a few rectifiers and 300 B mesh on loan from Lukasz.
For me this RCA is a game changer.
Psvane are very detailed and resolve , 300 B were to sweet for me considering that my amp is SET and I am fan of dsd classical music.

Also try the EML mesh 5u4g and Sylvnia 274b recti (haven't heard this myself but going on recommendations). I find replica 101ds best for orchestral but not for vocals, for which 300b or 6A3 are smoother and more refined. Of course, you could always upgrade to original WEs

Thank you for the recommendations, will try them one day , as per now I do not miss anything.
Nat King Cole pays visit to me every few days;)
PC and IC also influence the sound very much and I am testing some right now after kayak with my wife on the lake, accompanied by the glass of well chilled rose.
Life is good.

Very nice. I have heard through the grapevine that there is considerable variability in 300B performance. The current tube of choice is TJ SE: http://www.grantfidelity.com/site/TJ-FullMusic-300B-SE

I have done little dedicated tube rolling to date. I landed on the smoked glass Kenrad 6A3s and a National Union 5U4G.

Not to be a voyeur but take a global shot of your room and system. I like the art instillation in the background....

Thank you once more, I am glad you like it. Acoustically it's better than a concrete wall;)
One of fellow- audiophiles who knows more about tubes also recomended to me National Union 5U4G, have to try it.

For you, perhaps the Phillips metal base GZ34 is best, given your tube amps. Minty cool, they say...

For output tubes I have the 6A3, EML 45 solid and mesh plates, NU 45 and ceramic bases 101ds, in addition to other vintage stuff. No 300Bs though..

Thank you wisnon, but I do not have barn with tubes in the neighbourhood;)

Even the Barn has limits! The EMLs were bought commercially, as well as some of my 6A3s, WE 101d (ST shaped VINTAGE tubes) NU 45 and 5R4 rectis. Ebay is my friend too. LoL
