Hello, I am considering purchasing a Lampizator Big 7 Mk2 dac. The ad says it is a single ended r2r model with pcm and dsd and while the price is good the unit is 9 years old. I was planning on picking up a pre owned Baltic 4 later this year but obviously this is a superior dac. Should I be concerned about the age of this unit? I appreciate any feedback, thank you. Joe

Hi.
You should not be concerned. I would try to contact Lampizator and ask if they still could switch the engine to „model 11”.
I myself use Lampizator modified Big 7 dac and it is a superbly sounding piece of gear.

A few years back I bought a used GG1 I think it is circa 2017 it has had no problems. I sent it back for Engine 11 and Volume Control upgrades a year ago and can't overstate how good the upgrade is.

Hi.
Just to clarify, if I were you I would get in touch with Lampi. Whatever decision you make, wish you a lot of pleasure listening to music
