This is another strange one for the year - based on a true story back in the early 90s where a woman had a relationship with a 7th grader, and subsequently had his children in prison (!). Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore are the stars, and a few of their scenes side-by-side are terrific as Portman is an actress portraying Moore in a fictional "movie." This is definitely a "film" and will score some acting nominations. The soundtrack is very bizarre and the film feels like a psychotic thriller more than the "musical and comedy" nomination it received for the Globes. I am not sure it gets a best picture nod however but it sure makes you think at the end. Streaming on Netflix.
