I am looking for suggestions for upgrading the preamp on my MBL system (radialstrahler 101e, with 9008a and the 5011 pre, 1531 CD)
I would like to add phono but not critical. My preamp is starting to have issues with the volume dial and it is getting to be about 15 years old. So I was wondering with the advancements in electronics in general if there are now better (more modern) preamps that I should consider that would work nicely with the omnidirectional speakers. I use the system for 50% 2 channel listening and 50% for watching TV. I think I have a $4,000 to $7,000 budget (wife says 3k but... ) I have considered the newer MBL 6011 but it is a little more than I want to spend, but it is an option.
