Me and my Studers

Sorry, this genre is not really well presented. I only have on real chamber music:

A really talented quntet, listen to the samples!

You're putting the 48 kHz base down as a flaw, aren't you? I then recommend anyone who wants to read it to read my German reviewers. Unfortunately, only Claus Müller has his reviews available online in English:

Here he wrote about my cheapest product, the sampler (98,- €!). Which contained and still contains one set of that wind quintet tape (since 1995 on every sampler I made!). Rated with "1" as all other tapes, regardeless if the master was analogue or digital. And Massimo Pinatini, Italian sound engineer, bought that sampler and was fully impressed: "Excellent Quality" he wrote back.

All reviewers emphasize that “even digital data” from me sounds analogue. Which is no wonder, if you scroll all the way down here you can read that even my CDs sound “analogue” ("partly better than Chesky records" was one of the feedback):

If you are unbelieving, try the sampler or another cheap tape!

It is interesting and not unusual for people to have different reactions to pieces of gear. My impressions of the A8XX series are opposite, but I guess this is what makes this hobby more fun. :) So I am in process of modifying my A820 to direct output. :)
There is no question the A820 is indeed a very special machine, it was a true milestone. But I still love the sound of discrete circuits.

Thank you for your kind words regarding my channel. Speaking of direct sound you are not the only person to express that wish... but at least at this point it is outside of my capability. I would like to develop this but it might be some time, as I am doing it between other things. I do have a camera that will do it, but it lacks other things I like.
Record using an interface to a computer and then sync up the audio tracks in post. Old school clapper or hand clap helps when lining up the waveforms. Never rely on camera audio for anything unless just narration or there is no other choice.

I too enjoy your YouTube channel,
Robert
