Mojo Audio Mystique X - SE or X-24

That’s great news Don… good it’s working out and that the audio gods are fully behind your purchases.

It’s a lovely looking setup and that montagnana adds richly to the spirit of the room… perhaps it’s dual purpose and like a fab tonewood room resonator... beautiful instrument! Enjoy it in great health.
Thank you Graham for the very kind words!

Honestly, I don't hear anything being added to the room sound by having my cello placed where it is. Possibly due to the fact that my big Dunlavy speakers are a completely "sealed" box design with no ports whatsoever.

I do love my cello though... it looks as beautiful as it sounds...

Thank you again, Graham for your support along the way!

Best wishes,

That is just a thing of beauty Don, adds so much to the spirit of the space even if it’s not audible… it’s presence brings the music culture very much alive in the room, a fabulous reminder of what it’s really all about… love it!

I have wondered about the CD2 MK3. Ben at Mojo told me get the CD3 MK3. I would rather spend $2k than $5k. Sounds like its playing well.

I was posting a while back about setting up my digital only in the new room. I was pretty stunned how amazing the whole of the system was playing with the Mojo DAC and Mojo Server. I think many write it off. Its not vinyl. I didn't spend $90,000. How could I beging to enjoy it. Whatever. Mojo audio DAC play fantastic. Especially when fed a good source.

Hi,

At the time, I had bought a new LTA Aero Dac and had it at home on a trial. Towards the end of my trial period I had reached out to Ben to inquire about his Mojo dac and also ask him about his opinions about dedicated cd transports. I was at that time using my vintage Rotel 955AX cd player as the transport and was concerned that it may be holding back whichever dac I might be using. Ben told me if I wanted the biggest sound improvement, that I would be better off buying his Mystique X-24AM and to continue using my Rotel (until I can afford a dedicated cd transport) as that would garner a much better sound improvement than if I would keep the Aero and buy a new Jay's CDT3-MK3 cd transport.

My first thought was, he is just being a salesman and pushing his own product, but then he said, I'll give you a 45 day trial on my dac and let "your" ears be the judge. I took him up on his offer and he was absolutely right.

He also told me that when I was ready for a dedicated cd transport, that he felt the CDT3-MK3 was a better transport than the CDT2-Mk3. He may be right on that account too, but I have had numerous people who had auditioned both side by side and the consensus was that oftentimes they could not hear a sonic difference, and actually had a couple people say they preferred the CDT2-MK3 over the newer and basically all of them said the newer one was not worth double the price of the older model.

I happened upon a great deal on a like-new CDT2-MK3 in mint condition and I jumped on it! Partly, because I spent more than I had anticipated on the Mojo Dac (which I truly feel is worth every penny I paid for it) and because of what the many other various forum members had shared with me. I am very happy with this transport and would highly recommend it to anyone as an excellent value and a great sounding piece of gear.

Best wishes,
Don

Thanks Don. I will get the same transport you have. I have a couple other changes before I get there.
