More Format Wars?

I wonder; if analog turntables didn't exist, what about WBF?

* Do they make digital turntables? ...Pioneer and another manufacturer used to; laser turntables.

Clearaudio Linear Tracking Reference Master turntable; any good?

** What does Pono stand for?

Yes very good but a PITA if you are in a dusty, humid environment. You'll spend a whole lot of time cleaning the rails.

No idea what PONO stands for. It sounds like a title for a Japanese anime.

According to Wikipedia, Pono is a Hawaiian word commonly rendered as "righteousness".

Indeed...

funny indeed, so many obvious (probably by design) attempts at bait-planting, steering ... leading the witness so to speak crap .... happens too often here. They throw the first stone, attempt to spin ... when it doesn't work, they simply ignore or deflect the issue.

(sigh)

Look at this thread's title again, for example: More Format Wars?

What war? ...It's simply an ALTERNATIVE; if you just read the article.

Alright, I just did a bunch of research; from Microsoft to Apple's Steve Jobs, with who Neil had discussions about Pono before Steve passed away.
And I also have tons of links about Pono from all over, starting with Neil's own Facebook page; but there are so many of them, with tons of comments from all over the world, that I simply won't mentioned them here. ...For that you can easily google.

And yes, Julf, you were right: Pono = Righteous
Finally, that's about time!

...

I don't recall a Pioneer laser turntable. The Finial (now ELF) laser turntable is all analogue. No digital in the signal path.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer made laser turntables? Who knew?

Tim

War is hell right?

Tell me about it! ...And tell the Americans too!

BTW, my post above was not directed at you.

I knew that.

And you know what; I never take anything personally.
And I never assume either.
And I try to use impeccable wording.
And whatever I do I try my very best at doing it.

So all is good here on the waterfront.
