As I understand it I *think* you would need to add the I/O box to your Extreme to be able to use the XMDI card + daughterboards (like MSB ProISL, Lampi, AES, Taiko analog).
What does this mean?"We have MSB Pro working BTW, all we have to do now is have the driver digitally signed by Microsoft and send a system to MSB for final verification "
Not sure how long it will take to get an Olympus to MSB given the current situation... maybe Daniel or Jonathan can drive a DAC to San Diego to see Steve Williams, do the testing there, and convert him away from his Lampizator!...it was great to see that for MSB guys. I figured I would give them a week or so before I shamelessly asked for a progress report. I would love it if the solution was certified and ready, and could ship installed when my Olympus number comes up.
The XDMI daughter board to interface with MSB ProISL hardware plus associated firmware and Windows driver are 'done' as far as Taiko is concerned, all that remains is for MSB to test and sign off on the ProISL implementation, and Microsoft need to verify the Windows driver, before all can the released. What does this mean?
@Dustin Symanski thanks for the update. Are you at liberty to note whether you need the server in situ, or it can be done remotely, etc. We anxious/nervous MSB guys wanna know!
could Taiko please let us know when an Olympus might be available to go to MSB?
THANK YOU!!!!Departing from Oldenzaal tomorrow!
"Taiko XDMI" or "XDMI" better than "Taiko" IMOI received the Taiko Olympus Engineering sample this week and have just finished up the final FPGA code for the Pro ISL output on the Taiko XDMI card. I am pleased with its functionality and electrical performance. It fully supports PCM to 768Khz and Native DSD to 8x. When used with any of our DACs it will be displayed as "Taiko". It took me a few hours to adjust the retiming of each sample rate to perfection.
