I was able to get my FIOS provider to switch me over from coax to Cat6 recently so I installed a new wireless router, the Asus RT-AC68U. I'm pairing it with a Netgear wireless-N endpoint @ the other end of my home for solid coverage. I've streamed a few uncompressed Blurays over the wireless network and it has been rock solid. Copying large files is significantly quicker (I like to store videos and photos on my NAS and copy to my laptop when I'm working on them).

I'm using a Netgear DWA-182 adapter for now... hopefully I can get ac networking integrated into my next laptop/ultrabook.

Good to know. Thanks for the review Greg.

I avoid consumer wifi access points since they are so unreliable. Through my Wifi AP right now I get the full bandwidth that Comcast gives me: 60 to 70 bit/sec. But would like to upgrade to AC at some point.
