New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

That line-up would remind me of the 06-07 Suns. Win lots of games. Be dead tired come the playoffs.

Ron, Jack,

Maybe I should write Danny to pursue another guy than Melo. :) I heard Phil Jackson wants Melo to stay in New York.

LeBron plays great D Phil, LOL!

Did you say Lebron, Jack? Until this finals is over with Spurs prevailing, my ears are blocked out from his name. LOL

Did I read that right? "Houston plans to pursue the major stars who could be available upon opting out of deals, including Miami's LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and New York's Carmelo Anthony, league sources said. Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki is expected to be a target too."

Sources: Rockets will decline Chandler Parsons' option, making him a restricted free agent

The Rockets hold a $960,000 option on the fourth and final year of Parsons' contract for the 2014-'15 season, but want to avoid letting Parsons, 25, become an unrestricted free agent next summer. As a restricted free agent in July, the Rockets can match an offer sheet and retain Parsons on a long-term contract.

The Rockets have until June 30 to formally decline the option.

For the Rockets, there are two distinct advantages to letting Parsons into restricted free agency now. First, Houston is determined to clear the necessary salary cap space this summer to chase a third maximum contract free agent to join Dwight Howard and James Harden, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Houston plans to pursue the major stars who could be available upon opting out of deals, including Miami's LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and New York's Carmelo Anthony, league sources said. Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki is expected to be a target too.

The Rockets are pursuing Minnesota's Kevin Love in trade talks too, and Parsons could hold sign-and-trade possibilities.

In one scenario, Houston could secure three max-out players – including Howard, Harden and a potential star free agent – and then re-sign Parsons to an extension below the max-level range. Parsons could command in the $12 million to $13 million annual range, league executives tell Yahoo Sports.

For Houston too, there's little motivation to let agent Dan Fegan get Parsons into the summer of 2015 as an unrestricted free agent. Rockets officials fear Fegan's ability to score Parsons a monster contract on the open market. This way, Houston declines the team option now, clearing the way for Parsons to get a bigger payday a year sooner than scheduled. Ultimately, this could be a better climate for Houston to negotiate an extension with Parsons.

Parsons has been one of the NBA's most underpaid players in his current deal, which was signed after Houston drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft. Parsons averaged 16.6 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Rockets this past season.

He played a significant part in the recruitment of Howard to the Rockets and has expressed a strong desire to remain with the franchise.

For us Filipinos after the NBA Finals the big event will be The BB World Championship in Spain later this year. Our team qualified for the first time in DECADES. Just happy to be there frankly, no question at all who are the extreme favorites to win it all.

An embarrassment of riches!

No news yet who will be on the final roster.

Try scoring against this 5 of pickpockets, rebounders and shot blockers

C D. Howard
PF A. Davis
SF L. James
SG P. George
PG C. Paul

That's not even counting the go small (no not really :D) offensive bomb squad aka the uber spread 5

C Aldridge
PF James
SF Anthony
SG Durant
PG Curry

The Donald Sterling era is over. He agreed today not to contest the sale of the Clippers to Steve Ballmer.

Its a new era for the Clippers!

Thankfully it didn't go into an ugly lawsuit. But wow, $2 billion. Guess Ballmer made sure after losing the Bucks.

The price doesn't make sense compared to previous team sale prices.

Ballmer's worth over $20 Billion so he apparently made sure he would win this time.

He's a real basketball fan so it looks like he'll spend money to improve the team.

Clippers need a stronger player at SF. He can start there.

2014 Free Agents, restricted and otherwise with their respective annual salaries. Load your shopping carts now. :D

Kris Humphries @ $12m/year is really a horrible deal.

OK guys, the season now comes down to this. Seems Ron and Frantz predicted it. Pacers were indeed posers and the Heat seems to be gathering momentum as the Finals begin. Having said that my sentimental favorite is the Spurs. What a year for Pop and his Big 3. I hope they win and if so there is strong speculation that Duncan will retire. I'm hoping that home court advantage will shine favorably on The Spurs and I am going out on a limb and calling Spurs in 7

What sayest you?

I do agree with Ron when he said the winner will be whoever is the healthier team of the two and they need to contain Ray Allen

I want Duncan to be able to ride off into the sunset in style. I also don't want LBJ to pass MJ by a year (championships vs age).

Let's join Phil in Boston

Can I bring Stephenson so somebody can blow into Ainge's ear? LOL!

On the Finals, I feel that the Spurs have to win both games 1 and 2. Don't give a split. Miami will be hell bent to take 1 if not 2 games and go home with a split so I hope the Spurs prevent that and not let Miami ride its home court momentum. The series will be a test of hearts and this early James has fired the first off court salvo by saying Duncan's comments showed no respect for the Heat though we know Duncan is not a trash talker in the mold of say, Lance Stephenson. James is bent on having his three peat to make his promise of 6 or more championships come true. But I sure hope the Spurs make it right this time.

Spurs fan holding a banner that reads "WE ARE FROM TEXAS, WE CAN TAKE THE HEAT'. :D

Little did anyone know the air-conditioning broke down and there was literally heat all over. Reminds us (specially the Lakers players and fans) of the 1984 Finals where in the old Boston Garden, there was really no air-conditioning. The sight of Kareem breathing through an oxygen tank is memorable.

The Heat's star cramping up under the sweltering conditions. I can't wait to see the headlines. The irony is just too thick.
