New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Big and nice win by the Celtics over the Cavs. They seem to have enough manpower to match up to give them a good fight. IT shows he can still deliver even with bigger and battle tested defenders against him. He's the key and the money man in their playoff run. Crowder provides the much need muscle and athleticism to guard James and perhaps Love. Bill Belichick was on ringside to watch how LeBron does his 'running game'. :D

Looks like Durant is out for the rest of the season. Not that I root for the Warriors but hate to see anyone get injured.

KD out 4 weeks, got fracture. Which is a relief to the Warriors' fans.

Glad to hear Durant will be back for the playoffs.

Clippers can't beat a good team. Since the All Star break they beat Charlotte but lost to GSW, Spurs and Houston.

Boston visits the Lakers tonight. We need to win to keep maintain our number 2 spot in the East. :)

I'm trying to get tickets for the game Phil. They're going to get killed by your Celts.

There are 4 court side seats for $3200 per

That's less than the cost of a cable. Go for it!!!

Jimmy took Jeanie to court today to wrest control away from Jeanie. That should be fun to follow. Shades of Donald Sterling....well, no where near that bad. :)

The two older brothers are ganging up on Jeanie apparently. The brothers control the trust with 66.67% ownership.

LATE EDITION UPDATE: Looks like Jeanie staved them off for the time being per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Steve, you better leave for the game now. Friday evening....could take you 3 hours to get to downtown LA from southern Orange County. :)

Maybe you could bum a ride with Kobe in his helicopter.

wow

that is sad news indeed and definitely smells like Donald Sterling ilk

As for the travel time I am up in LA and 20 minutes away. Decent tickets start at $400 per

I just read the petition and it seems the Buss brothers are equally stupid. They don't have a leg to stand on. I wondered why Jim Buss has gone silent since the firing.

IIRC wasn't it young Jim that said if he didn't have a playoff team by this year Jeannie could fire him. What's the problem

$3200 is an eye popping price, Steve. I hope Magic Johnson does not start to inspire his team with the old Celtics Lakers lorem at least for this game. :D

C's prevail over the Lakers, so we must have like a 2 game overall lead in this rivalry. :D

C's rookie Jaylen Brown continues to impress me. He's got a good future and may move to the starting five one day. That incredible right hand to left hand alley-oop layup shows his athletic ability. At 6-6, his height is just right for a good 3 player. Am bullish on this kid, though I must admit I boo'ed Ainge on draft day for picking Brown. :D

A news article has Magic and Larry vying for PG13. I hope it's just click bait.

When Magic rejoined the Lakers I wondered if he was a stalking horse for the Guggenheim Group (owners of the Dodgers) and the opening gambit in their plan to purchase the Lakers. Magic is a partner in the Dodgers.

With the Buss family dispute coming out in the open it could be a sign that its time to sell. Lakers could sell for $3 billion dollars. Jeanie seems capable of running the team but her two brothers seem to be a least several bricks short of a load.

A change in ownership could be good for the Lakers.

Well Jack, I read PG wants to go back to is hometown and play for the Lakers when he becomes a free agent next season. For some reasons, I am not that hot on PG of Jimmy Butler coming to Boston to make us strong contenders. I think the thought of KD coming over last year spoiled me. :D And I believe the C's need a big man who can create his shots, rebound and block shots and is NOT a head case. :D

I can't ever see that happening in the near future but that's a lot of money. Jeannie isn't letting go nor do I blame her. I believe the attempted coup by Jim and his brother was nothing more than an attempt to usurp her power and oust her rather than sell the team. She has a very good lawyer and the two Buss brothers are absolute morons. Can you see Jim running the Lakers. He told Jeannie to fire him if he doesn't produce and that is what she did. I was surprised in the hiring of Magic as he is a part owner in the Dodgers. Perhaps in the future that would be the gambit by the Dodgers organization but that would be IMO not any time soon.

I wonder how the brow and horford would be like paired together.

As for PG, I'm having mixed feelings. I don't see the intensity on the court. He's got more intensity in his talk! There's a nonchalant-ness to his on court body language that's irritating. His motor seems to want to go on idle along with his focus too many times a game. That's not the conference final PG who was this stoic dude who was all locked in on D.

The race to the finish line as the season winds to an end will be very interesting IMO as the GSW will be without KD for the balance and this leaves an "in" for the Spurs as they have demonstrated and are now 2 games behind. In the East Cleveland seems to be struggling and the Celts IMO can provide stiff competition. This is becoming a season unlike one in which I expected

Yes, tough break for the Warriors with Durant's injury.

Spurs are looking good but don't forget the Rockets. D'Antoni 's offensive system is perfect for that team and they have been outstanding.

Toronto looked good in the East until Kyle Lowry went out for 4 to 5 weeks with wrist surgery. As you mentioned, Celtics are emerging as the remaining challenger to the Cavs.

I would take Brow and Horford, as Horford is fast transforming into a 3 point shooter than a low post player nowadays. So the Brow can go inside. :D I would have liked a Cousins (with a corrected attitude problem) and Horford tandem as Cousins is a real good big man next to Marc Gasol who is locked up forever in Memphis.

I feel the same too about PG. He's not the same guy as in that Heat series where he was BIG, and playing big time and delivering in the clutch. For that, if he bolts for the Lakers, I really don't mind. :D
