As mentioned early on in this thread, the study referenced in the OP is a (sort of) follow-up to the hotel room study. I believe that instead of a hotel room, this was performed in a concert hall, and instead of welder's goggles a soft blindfold was used. In any case, the title of this thread should give some clue as to my position regarding this study...
