Can anyone tell me if the Origin record clamp should sit on top of the turntable spindle and NOT make contact with the record surface?

Thanks

Ha Ha Ha ! :p What would be the purpose ? Your spindle is either to thick or to long, normally a good problem to have !;) Last time i bought a record clamp with this problem i drilled it out a little ! Measure first ! You could return it and have them do it, Mark Baker always aims to please !

The Origin Live Gravity One is designed to be in contact with the record label area to effectively damp vibrations in the vinyl. It isn't a clamp nor is it very heavy like many other such devices and is not designed to flatten warped records. It claims to "make a significant contribution to improving bass definition, weight and depth but it also enhances the mid-band and treble through better separation, transparency and decay of notes." The reviews seem to support the claims, being confirmed both by professional reviewers and customer feedback.
