Orotofon MC Anna Diamond cartridge

i have had them both here for a long comparison. The Opus 1 is a very refined sounding cartridge. It is quiet and quite musical. Definitely one of the better cartridges I have listened to. On the other hand, the Ortofon Anna Diamond is every bit as refined but also has superior resolution and attack.

There really is no bad choice here, but I prefer the Ortofon for which I am a dealer.

Begs the question, what do you think of the Anna vs the Opus and the Anna vs the Anna D

Thank you Jonathan! Could you please comment on the quietness of the cartridges? I have never heard a quieter cart with such jet-black backgrounds as the Opus 1.
No Jonathan but I use Opus1 a lot.

Opus1is very quiet and transparent but no jet-black background. A record with higher surface noise will play more quiet with Opus1. If one find jet black it is not from Opus1 but from component within the system chain.

Don't know if Esturo Gold is better than Opus. Possibly. Probable.
If we invite Leif to join cart chat, his Dava would probably take the crown. :)

Both are quite good and a matter of taste. I prefer the top end of the Anna just a bit and I think it is also a little more musical. The Opus has equally good clarity and dynamics.

The Anna Diamond has greater resolution, ease and texture than the original Anna.
