Where do you guys (who find GG better than Pac) listen to mostly, Pcm or DSD?

I plugged the RCA jacks into my ears last night for that more direct approach
Curious to see the layout and how you go about switching. Any plans to try transmission coupled output?
No switching, just two sets of caps and two sets of outputs, into a preamp with r/c to switch between the two Lampi outputs, connected simultaneously.
No to transformer coupled. But you could make an external box with about 5 different output capacitor types AND a transformer coupled output. Get some Audio Note transformers or something. That would be fun.
I don't really recommend people play around with their Lampis, though, unless you are a nutcase or don't mind voiding your warranty.

A few thoughts on this rather confusing thread.
For the record Lampi has done somthing with the network input. The pacific I had for my mini review did sound as stated but when it came back from Lampi the network input sound had changed drastically for the better. There is no longer a NAA only RAAT
For what ever reason this gives this input a very much on par with usb now. It's a bit more forward to my brain but wonderful.
This was done in my room on same TRI pc setup cust made by me.
As for Kedar's continued observation this eludes my conception as to how he and the other 4 other Golden ears claims I can only say this.

My quasi head dac gg 1
A gg2 new model same engine as pacific in fact on the same day all played. The moment I put on the gg2 in 10 seconds I asked the owner if he had the same engine it was obvious.
The pacific is a clear winner across the board. Yes it needs a pedigree of tubes but levels above the others
For what it's worth Lampi continues to move up not sidways as some may say.
Having a preamp regardless of what many say is a must. This pre must be an active pre NOT a passive
Interconnect length matters anyone who uses SE cables more than 6 feet nominal or 10 with ultra shieldeding are loosing resolution , slam , Clarity. The very items described as being Better.
Better is a fact and no one gets to say well mine has this. Better is a culmination of many factors
What good is slam without jump or clarity.
Glazing is also part of a less than optimal setup.
Owning a system is far more important than making judgements based on hearing ones stuff at place not yours. Anyone who does not own can have there opinion but they should be aware of a less than accreted conclusion.
An example is this. Lets say a given system has a tube amp this setup most likely cannot keep up with the dynamics of a pacific dac. It's off the chain dynamic and jump. A Low noise floor yields dynamics but jump needs a fast powerfull amp. A tube amp runs out of gas but clips soft where a ss amp shouts. Given a jump is not there due to this effect on tube amps ina less than optimal system.
For any nay sayers come to my room and bring your dac then post as you hear things.
Being here it's obvious that each level of Lampi is clear in class jump.
Ps the pacific plays pcm better than dsd in my world but both are world class. To comment that lesser models are better in any comparisons to the pacific is just confusing to me.
Perhaps the systems of the nay say groups cannot Produce what the massive change is.

Kedar you have heard many more world class systems then I ever will. But I can't imagine most systems not getting a big jump from them.
In my own setup when I finally did get a real preamp the jump was monumental this forged my beliefs. Before I installed a real pre i moved

In the end an old ml no 26 blew up a 40 k dac and preamp. The rest came after. Plesee don't forget to come back bro it's a very improved place and in no way am I looking for praise from you. Only honest views as guidance to move forward.

I will. This has nothing to do with world class systems. Though as mentioned I will go to couple of people to compare my GG with their Pac.
As for passives, the Ypsilon PST is considered to be one of the best preamps. It just so happens that it works with 242s, as does the Analog Domain passive, and the Aries Cerat Active, which makes them my preferred preamps

You often say the 242 doesn't work with ARC gear but I can tell you from my own experience that - at least in my system - the ARC REF 6 preamp and the ARC REF 75 poweramp worked wonderfully with the 242 and they worked together as well as alone combined with my stuff (KR Audio Kronzilla power amp and Aries Cerat Incito pre amp).
I really think you should refrain from your gross generalizitions you like to trumpet as dogmas (aka your findings of the day )

Sorry I never made such a dogma. It didn't work with three AR preamps I tried. If anything I have constantly said to roll tubes in your system to find out the best match and if possible maximize for 242
I kept my GG for almost 2 full years..I was so familiar with what it could and could not do. When Pac arrived, I still had the chance to compare it head to head, I even replaced the GG tubes with Pac..including the recti. Out of the box..Pac was cold and shy..except for the bass which was shattering. The factory gave me some time to test and if I were happy, I could ship the GG back and if not, they would take the Pac back.
I listened to Pac until 4 a.m. for and the next day until 2 a.m.
Once it hit 100 hours, without hesitation, I packed the GG and shipped it back to factory. Pac remains with me as supreme winner. Of course, it is system dependent and I invited several friends on separate occasions, they all knew my GG well..we unanimously agreed..Pac is the clear winner.
I listened to Pac until 4 a.m. for and the next day until 2 a.m.
