To give some perspective

That first picture from the Event Horizon Telescope of a black hole didn't make a big splash here @ WBF. The TechDAS Air Force Zero TT had a bigger impact.

The AF0 quite literally sucks into it the cash of ten audiophiles planning to buy a $40k tt.

Sitting here playing Schubert’s Death and the Maiden thinking just how appropriate that the very first Black Hole image comes out of the distant darkness in the constellation of Virgo.

The black hole, the gateway to Hades, where the hole itself is invisible but only can be seen within the shadow.

In mythology Pluto (Hades) was invisible to all except for the passing of his shadow and the story of death’s (Hades) abduction of the maiden is expressed in the constellation of Virgo where Kore, daughter of Demeter transforms and becomes Persephone wife of Hades and queen of the underworld as she consummates her marriage through sacrificing her maidenhood. Demeter casts the Earth into a permanent winter in an attempt to rescue her daughter... and in this moment the seasons are born. Change. Transformation. Transfiguration.

As an adjunct on watching the conference it troubles me when science promotes itself as a leader beyond government and politics. Science is a part of civilisation and a part of understanding but it is not total understanding within itself. Science has also bought us both extraordinary wonders and horrors. Philosophy and wisdom need always to be required balancing agents to science.

But then also how utterly amazing was Einstein. Such vision. Such genius. Great to see this validation of his work 100 years on.

Interesting... for years (before WBF) my signature was a very dark but also hopeful message, a vision for eternity: “Death and Transfiguration”

Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris made a go @ it together once.

Isn't it fifty audiophiles Marc?
_____

It amazes me ... the power way above our own planet and galaxy.
We are in toyland here below it all, like zero force gravity.
Famous classical music composers wrote symphonies on the vastness of the universe.
Famous filmmakers ... 2001: A Space Odyssey, Interstellar, ...

This global contribution (Event Horizon Telescope) in the exploration of space with pictures of black holes is going to inspire other master filmmakers and classical music composers, and master turntable designers.

P.S. It was unnecessary to delete a good humor post, and another music one in another thread.
This is all in good camaraderie, like real adults in the best forum around.
The Beatles reply to Mike was perfectly ok. The Big Lebowski video clip reply to Marc was perfectly ok.
