These amps have been in customers' hands for many months, but I've read little about them...just a couple very positive professional reviews on the 'net, and those reviews seemed not very comprehensive to me.. Anyone here use them? I'm still shopping for the ultimate (affordable...cough, cough) amps to compete with my Pass X260.8s for my Sound Lab Majestic 745s.. A friendly e-mail dialogue with Paul McGowan this week indicated that the '600s have the kinds of sounds (highly resolving while being somewhat warm, completely at ease, and highly musical) I'm looking for.

Anyone have or had them?

I am surprised that Paul would say that about his product. If you like the Pass so much, why don't you just keep your amp and be done with it?

Because I suffer from Audiofoolia, as MANY of us do.
So you want something that sounds as good or better than the Pass at a lower price. Understood. By choice, I am no longer a gear addict but still a dedicated music lover.

Have you asked Paul if he can arrange for an in home addition? Seems like a reasonable request to me. Best.

I upgraded from BHK300s To 600s about 6 months ago. Slightly better resolution and precision of soundstage. But, the most noticeable difference is ease and relaxation despite better detail.

It's interesting to me how many people writing on the 'net put words into other peoples' mouths.. I did NOT write 'as good or better' better, since 'as good' isn't better! And I never wrote anything that could be construed as 'lower price'.

Pay attention, abidist.

Within the above context, doesn't "compete" mean or imply "as good or better"?

What's an abidist? Can't seem to find a clear definition. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

FYI, I am a reformed "audiofoolialist" and final comment, nice system.

Best.

Seems I haven't kept this thread up to date.. Since e-mailing Paul McGowan about BHK600s and learning that PSA is running out of them and probably I'll never get on the waiting list in time to get one, I found a used pair at The Music Room...
...in a Denver suburb..They were priced at 25% off RR and were/are in excellent condition.. I bought them with most of the purchase price paid with trade-ins, and drove to and from Denver (29 total hours both ways) some weeks ago(2).. Got them connected and immediately(1) heard the 'highly resolving while being somewhat warm, completely at ease, and highly musical' characteristics of these amps.. These amps have continued to sound best-ever since then.

EDIT.. The '600s are tallish, heavy(3), and stay warm in standby; turned on and while playing music, I can hold my hands on the heatsinks for about 5 seconds before jerking them off.

(1) The immediacy of this occurrance is rare for me, as I'm not a quick-hearing GEA, I'm mostly a slow-hearing musiclover...maybe a bronze-eared audiofool?
(2) and got lost both days in spite of the SUV's navigation system.
(3) as in I can move them around, but I can't lift one.
