Is anyone using the Radian 745neoBe or Radian 760neoBe in a two-way system?

If yes, with what horn?

If possible, please post directivity and CSD plots, frequency response.

Crossover type and the slope?

Actively or passively crossed?

Please describe subjective aspects of the sound.

and the Lorenzo LM1:

Here is the Radain in the Supravox horn:

I am interested in this driver, it sounded marvellous at MNunich in both these speekers.

Yes the PB which I think demo Aluminium. The Lorenzo uses the Be though.
Universum also uses Radian Be. However Be is now much more expensive to add

Thanks, but I was looking for DIYers who may have used particular horns with the Radian 745 or 760. Horns like the Klipsch K510, or one of the JBL horns of about the size or this Troy Crowe horn.

Interesting range of completed horn speakers and parts from Joseph Crowe. He seems to know his subject. Prices look reasonable for the quality as well. I am interested in his Fostex wooden horn inc crossovers.

The big ones he has for 25k seem pretty tempting. The midrange driver is the B&C DCM50, which is a very unusual and interesting driver. It uses a 5 inch paper cone as the diaphragm with 2 inch throat exit and 109 dB sensitivity. Goes all the way up to 9.5 KHz.

Bass is reflex but front horn loaded to make a better match with mid horn. Beyma driver is a solid choice. Tweeter is a Fostex T90A with his own horn lens…all very nice components and great woodworking. Only question for me is how good is he at the crossover design? I would consider making it full active.

Which Beyma midrange driver and why might you choose that over the DMC50 https://bcspeakers.com/en/products/hf-driver/archive/2/8/DCM50
or BMS 4591? https://www.bmsspeakers.com/index.php-111.html?id=bms_4591

Crowe offers the Fostex T90 in this waveguide to reduce diffraction and improve frequency response. https://josephcrowe.com/products/horn-lens-no-2474-for-fostex-t90a?_pos=3&_psq=fostex&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Question: If that combination was playing a ~ 85db from 8kHz to 15kHz would you expect the curve to be a lot flatter?

But please check out this Fostex/lens combo.

The lens definitely improved frequency linearity and the directivity plot comparisons do show obvious improvement at 8kHz, but how would you evaluate the overall dispersion pattern overall with and without the lens?

Then check out the Fostex T925/lens combo.

Finally, there's this combo.

Might this be a respectable multichannel DAC, multi sub and active crossover solution?

I was referring to the Beyma woofer….not a replacement for the DCM50. I haven’t heard a DCM50 and it is an interesting choice with a paper diaphragm…very unusual for a compression driver and covers a wide range.

I personally have found round horns (Tractrix, Spherical or JMLC) to sound the most natural compared to radial, Biradial or other non round shapes. I have some other interesting horns like the 18 Sound XT1464 and an Iwata 600 from hORNs Poland. Both sound nice but the Tractrix 550 from solid wood ended up the best match.

Yeah, I know these systems. I chose a Mini-DSP nanodigi because it was digital in and out and I could use my own DACs. Now I use an analog active to allow for best vinyl reproduction.

OTOH, for a two-way design, might this horn be preferable even over Troy Crowe's ES290?

And might the Radian Be driver be the one? I say that because along with his passive crossovers, Pierre has apparently perfected a passive contouring network to flatten and extend the otherwise ragged response of the Radian 745neoBe. https://www.usspeaker.com/radian 745neoBepb-1.htm

See post 15266. https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/beyond-the-ariel.100392/page-764

But having the 1.4" throat exit Radian 745Bes before the 2" TH4001 horns
https://www.athosaudio.com/2021/01/01/tad-th-4001/ necessitated collaboration with Docali https://www.diyaudio.com/community/members/docali.19834/#about to design throat adapters.

However, the adapters, while successful, would using the 2" version of the 745Be have sounded better? https://www.usspeaker.com/radian 760neoBepb-1.htm

What is throat size and corner frequency of that Supravox horn?
And anyone have performance measurements? Burst and spectral decay, frequency response, distortion and directivity maps?
