You may want to add the snubbers across the relay contacts then, will prolong their lives too!
The additional cost is next to nothing.

Quick update. My technician put in a 40A relay designed for usage in HVAC units. Works fine and is dead quiet. If this does not hold out, then nothing will.

A snubber across the contacts will still help and prolong the life of the 40A relay.
