Rowland 555

The 555s are VERY good.

I have 2 for my focal scalas, and a third one for my borreson x3.

I am potentially selling the third one since I am selling the X3 for the Clarysis Piccolo and will opt for a tube amp for that.

If anyone is interested for the Rowland 555 (1st owner, original receipt can be provided) shoot me a PM.

So you're using the stereo 555's as monoblocks? Or bi-amping each speaker.

As mono blocks.
Cool....I wonder how the 555's rate against the Model 12's. Model 12's have a separate switching power supply and are 350W @ 4 ohms(I have OG JM Lab/Focal Mezzo Utopia's) and the 555's are 250W @ 4ohm....New vs old. I spoke to Jeff recently and he said both amps were "special". I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about the 555.

I've also heard that with the 555's, that Jeff designed the amps so the amps distortion was in the low frequencies. Whereas most amps have their distortion in the higher frequencies. I liked that about the 555's....

Jeff seems not to give any F's about marketing. His website to this very day STILL does not have the 555 amps on the website.

I think he at his stage in life made the 555 as a passion project/retirement final lap type of thing.

When I bought them at release I asked him myself over the phone, why not list them on website, his response was pretty much "been busy."

Yep, my old Billy Baggs amp stands have been with me for a long time and continue to deliver, with the help of some Marigo Audio Lab footers!
Also, my 925 amps are powered by Stealth Audio Dream 20-20 power cords plugged into an Everest power conditioner.
Thanks.

***PS - The 925's are currently for sale, since I have become an EMM Labs dealer.

Would you be so kind as to let me know if you decide to sell the Billy Baggs amplifier stands if you no longer have a need for them? My e-mail address is kodak805@gmail.com. I am in TN. Thank you for your attention.
