if we are going to have a RTR Forum then it will be helpful to be able to point people to various sources to answer basic questions and provide some depth of knowledge. 3+ years ago, when i first got into RTR, there was no place to find answers and explanations. now there is.

The Tape Project Forum has a great thread 'Beginners Guide To Tape Recorders' which i highly recommend for anyone wanting to know basic (and not so basic) stuff. my thanks to Ironbut (and others) over on The Tape Forum for providing this resource.

in general, The Tape Project Forum, is always a place to get a wide range of questions about RTR answered. OTOH it is a commercial site and sponsored by The Tape Project so it has a few restrictions and sensitivities we don't have here.
