Christian-I just don't think it is a record that you will want to hear over and over again. I think it falls under the audio porn catagory. On the other hand, For Duke is an LP that always puts a smile on my face and you don't need to wait until a newbie shows up at your house so you can show off your system to the unsuspecting.
Bill Demars stopped by today with a copy of For Duke....after hearing it, I want one...just need to wait for a NM copy on the bay. EX doesn't cut it for me most of the time...
I like this quote from the auction I'm watching....makes you want it even more...lol
Given its apparent value, and its lack of any redeeming musical value- except to insane audiophiles who want to hear what it sounds like to have some one dance on your head, it's now for sale.
For Duke, I'm keeping. On the other hand, Flamenco Ole, that other JVC D2D Flamenco record.... well, that's in the pile to sell too.
We should make a list (I'm sure there's a thread on this already) of audiophile records that are musically less than _____.
I'd put it into the same category as those train wreck, 'storm in hi-fi' records, which I also have a shitload of, from the introduction to stereo era.
