Went to see Star Trek Beyond today.
As a Star Trek fan I enjoyed the movie. It was a rollicking, good romp. Very entertaining.
That said there were a few parts that were not quite believable....but it is a science fiction movie after all.
I'd give a a very solid B, maybe B+.

I saw a couple of people saying it's the best of the three. I wanted to get it in 4K, but it's only on pre-order for now.
Into Darkness was very good thanks to Cumberbatch and a more gripping story than the first.
As a related anecdote: Netflix has bought a lot of the rights to the various TV series, and I believe also secured a deal for the new Star Trek Series:
Filmed in Toronto, Canada also gave them William Shatner, will premiere everywhere in the World, except in the US and Canada.

Just saw it this afternoon - completely super average but certainly not bad. B-
Not a fan of Lins directing, but Idris and the new alien girl were good.

It was good, but I've grown tired of the war theme. There was a few moments were I felt like they were using tools of filming that just felt gimmicky. Simon Pegg should probably refrain from too much of comedy and such that resembles his earlier ****. I feel like the actors have hit their stride, but the way it is filmed and edited hasn't.
