Well he didn't make many and I too loved that movie but for me the best was Bullitt. IMO that car chase in hilly San Francisco has never been beaten. I do feel the car chase in The French Connection came darn close

Bullit and The Getaway, fantastic movies! I also loved Papillon and The Sand Pebbles.
 
I actually saw it when it was released. Went with buds we were all horror fans at the time. 69 on 10/31

I think that the one in TFC was even better, but pretty close.;)

I'm looking forward to this. My fave. Steve McQueen film will probably always be The Great Escape, though.
 
I still have Thomas Crown as my favorite. Specifically cause one was not used to seeing him play that type of character. Course the multi-frame and music didn't hurt.
