Super Bowl LIX halftime show

I wonder if a kid from Compton might think/say the same thing the first time he/she hears/reads Shakespeare?

His recitations were unintelligible, for me. As a result, not the most compelling performance.

YMMV.

total crap IMO

You'd think with most of the US and who knows how many from overseas watching, it would be wholesome entertainment for all. Someone we can all relate too and be unifying-like the sport/event is.

I switched to watching Turner Movie Classics, “To Kill A Mockingbird” during half time. As soon as the half time show started. great movie worth watching for the umpteenth time.

So I don’t have to un-remember that stuff. happen to time my return to the game just right when the second half kicked off.

Then when it got to 34 to nothing I switched back to the movie. When the movie ended switched back to watch a little of the post game. happy, happy, happy. i did miss the later 2nd half commercials but somehow i'll get over it. probably the 'Sloth' commercial was my favorite but i do not recall what the product was.

The Sloth was my favorite. IMO most of the commercials were just plain stupid...

So you are comparing rap to Shakespeare? Interesting analogy. Please cite commonalities.

I wonder if he ever used the b,s,n and f words or equivalent for his time period?

Comparing the quality of the work of K. Lamar to W. Shakespeare is quite the stretch.
I was going to say asinine but OK

At halftime, I switched to a movie early knowing it was going to be bad - rap always is. However, I came back too soon. I don’t call such things that I heard music!

It was a subtle political message. Ask a young person

Well, I don’t think there’s any question that wasn’t marketed to the good folks on WBF. :)

You’re right…a kid from Compton would never make that compare
What were those people at Pulitzer thinking?

The truth is, I am not a big fan of rap music and I didn’t “get” the message….but I do respect that alot of people are and do.

The halftime shows have become statements past few years.
There was a time they were notable and I had many saved to watch again.
This was a well done performance aside of words i could not understand , but the message was red white and blue and that was great to me.
past great shows were great and still hold up today.
The game was horrible having got blown away so fast and never stopped sucks the hope and this leads to why am I watching.
I think the best of the shows had multiple talents not just one.
MM for one and Michael Jackson too.
Bruno mars was good.
My country has gone through a lot to get here and now.
Colors made it for me.
And this is not a political statement it’s just American thought.

Switched over to Sling TV at half time and watched the Three Stooges Channel

At halftime I hit the mute button. It's been a while since I watched a SB halftime show. I can do without all the crap that surrounds the game.
