i have now listened to the silver wire Silvercore 1:10 (big can version) for about a month. it is really excellent i think. it is very open, i get great detail and tone on vocals. everything is there all at once and yet you can follow bits of it. it is neither warm nor dry although i speculate that if one's system was solid state it could be less "amber" than some might want. i managed to score a lyra delos 2nd hand at the same time for cheap. between the delos, the silvercore, smartractor and analog magik, i don't think i have ever heard better. it is not a cheap SUT but compared to my S9 it sort of is.
i will soon get the AN UK S9 back with my iogold and i look forward to getting an impression of the difference between the two on same table/same arm. my sense of it is that the ioGold/S9 combo is just radically massive. it will make the Delos seem like it is Pointilliste in nature (Seurat-ical?).
also whilst contemplating SUTs, i have assumed i want 5 mV of output. however i use a AN UK M6 RIAA. one thing i have noted it being said on web is that AN Kondo pre-amps work with quite high input levels (9 mV was mentioned). based on the volume levels i get out of my system with the 1:10 and the 0.6 mV Delos, i reckon same might apply to AN UK. which is to say if your winding times input voltage calc for a prospective SUT yields say 10 mV, then that actually might not be an issue at all for some preamps.
