Symphony 13 from horns by Autotech

There is a 4 way hORNS universum out now, called Universum Reference

Mid horn got much smaller, I guess this means they cross the midbass horn significantly higher in frequency.

They have added a tweeter between the 2 inch and the 1 inch.

I think the original looks somehow much more elegant with the big mid horn. However, I guess it was kind of a stretch for the mid horn in the Universum to come down to the woofer...now with a midbass horn that blend is probably better...as is the blend from mid to tweeter. Still, the extra complexity can make the crossover difficult to get right.

Yes 4 way is more difficult and I don’t know what the tweeter will add in value. I like that colour though

Interesting move going 4 way, brave even… wouldn’t have imagined they needed any extension up top. If there’s good balance already it will be interesting to hear how this new iteration works better.

The new colour is nice… would look good in the back of a Landrover disco.

Thank you so much. I did take my dealer's and distributor's advice and ordered a pair finished in Lamborghini darkest black for the cabinet and Lamborghini dark grey for the horn. The compression driver for the horn is upgraded to a beryllium driver from the standard titanium with a corresponding upgrade to over for the driver upgrade.
Hey AudioAddict,

Hope you are enjoying your Symphony 13! If I may ask, how much was the up-charge for the beryllium driver? Also, how is their listening height when you stand up? Does their soundstage remain stable , or one must listen strictly in the sweet spot? Are yours the MK2 version? Thanks!

It turns out out it was a fake upgrade. They have never built a Symphony 13 that way. The $8K upcharge was only for the finish. They still sound excellent though.

Fake upgrade?!!!! WOW! Have you received compensation from them, I hope ? Does your dealer still carry the line if you know, because the distributor no longer has that brand listed? Thanks.

The distributor would not come out they did anything and the manufacturer says they have never built a single Symphony 13 with a beryllium driver. The distributor and the manufacturer no longer do business. My dealer relief on the distributor and so did I. My dealer has been very good to me over the past 3 years.

As somewhat Kharma, I had ordered a silver Inaukustic USB and when the arrived there was no cable. Since it was shipped directly by the dealer he had to replace it.

Some unfortunate misadventure you ve had to go through. I wonder how did you find out about the deceit? So no one has claimed responsibility for defrauding a client?!!!!!!!! This is a fraud and can be prosecuted in the court of law!

This is the first time I ve ever heard of such fact ! Of course there have been frauds of many kind in this hobby, but such a blatant deceit deserve maximum publicity and shaming of all partied involved IMHO! Definitely makes me reconsider dealing with any of the participants in such a fraud , both the their ex distributor who carries extensive line of gear and manufacturer!

I found out when emailing with the owner of horns. He was adamant they never shipped a single Symphony 13 with that driver. At first he thought it was being done through a third party but when I told him I understood it was ordered with the driver, that's when it all surfaced.

For the money and legal fees and time, I just put it behind me.

WOW! I have to admire your stance , however If it was me, I would put everyone involved in such fraud through hell, and would make them regret their action 100 fold! Its not only the matter of money, I'm not gonna rub it in, but my blood is boiling from a mere thought of such horrible action! If you have your facts and proofs of such fraud, I d publish them on all audiophile forums for everyone to see!
