We're looking forward to another great event at the Southwest Audiofest next week!
It's no small feat getting good sound from a hotel room, but if that's the task, you can hardly hope for a better starting point than the rooms at the Anatole Hilton. They're nice and wide, and the construction is noticeably more solid than the rooms we often encounter at the shows. The event is a nice size as well, and just like every Audiofest, Lou and Gary do a great job running it.
It's been so busy here at Songer Audio, but we've still found the time to develop a couple of new things, here at the shop. The first announcement was of our extraordinary new 6wpc single-ended 300B amplifier, the A3. You can find some beauty shots and read some of the details, here:

The second new offering is coming with us to Dallas next week: the S2x. It was only a matter of time before we took on development of the dipole version of our latest Nova driver, and that project couldn't have yielded better results. Like the S1x, improvements have been made to every area of the loudspeaker, including the drivers, crossover and cabinetry. The voice coil in the dipole Nova has been modified for the Type D, such that it produces higher Qts. That translates to better performance in open baffle applications, and permitted us to lower the crossover point even further, allowing the Nova to produce more of the lower mid-bass frequency range. That's a key improvement. General construction tends to resonate in the frequency range in question, and the freedom to turn over a little more of it to the cleaner, lightning-fast reproduction of a magnet-mounted field coil has resulted in some noticeable gains in mid-bass detail and accuracy.
But the real story is the incredible control of the Nova driver in general. What it achieves with its new geometry and cobalt-iron pole piece is something to behold, as those who have experienced it in the S1x can attest.
We have a great system to present once again. Whammerdyne is providing their wonderful sounding 9wpc 2A3 capacitorless DAM-Ultra monoblocks, Innuos contributes a Zenith Next-Gen streamer and PhoenixNet switch, and we're welcoming a new partner as well. PS Audio has graciously provided a PowerPlant 12 AC regenerator, which will deliver sine-wave-perfect, regulated high current AC power to the entire system.
We look forward to welcoming you once again for a rare listening experience, March 21st-23rd in Dallas.
