In 2019, we released Endeavor Special Edition at an MSRP of $25,000. The design goal of the Special Edition was to achieve the highest level of performance in class by utilizing extremely high-quality drivers, crossovers, signal patch and terminations in a cabinet with the same high gloss automotive finish available on our flagship products. And it was very successful including winning the 2021 Product of the Year by HIFI Magazine as well as numerous Editor’s Choice and Best Of awards.

So all-in-all, the Endeavor SE was a huge success. But…

We had numerous dealers and International Distributors tell us that the vast majority of their customers would not spend more than $20,000 for a pair of high-end audio loudspeakers. No matter how good they were, most customers would take a clearly inferior pair of speakers as long as they cost no more than $20k.

That got us thinking. Could we provide all… not some but ALL of the sonic components and performance in the Endeavor SE for $20,000?

Now it should be no surprise to seasoned audiophiles that the cabinet; both in construction as well as finish, is often the single most expensive component of a loudspeaker. And while we’ve developed proprietary cabinet damping techniques that are in our opinion, an elegant solution that won’t break the bank like some of our competitors *cough* aluminum *cough*, we prefer to put your investment towards items that make music, not brute-force engineering that may help with cabinet resonances. we realize that not everyone needs to have an exotic automotive finish like the Endeavor Special Edition has.

Introducing the Endeavor REFERENCE Edition which benefits from ALL of the sonic components and performance of the award wining Endeavor SE, but in an attractive walnut cabinet (similar to the E-3MkII) and priced at $20,000 MSRP.

The walnut finish is by no means a step-down from the painted finish. For many, it may be the preferred finish. And yet this finish option allows us to dramatically reduce the overall cost of these speaker. We’re very excited to offer this high value loudspeaker design, the first units are currently shipping to dealers.

For those interested in how it sounds, it would be perfectly acceptable to read any Endeavor SE review. They are after all the same speaker in the different finish. But we understand if there is some skepticism. Therefore, we are in the process of sending these out to review as well. The process will take a bit, these reviews don’t happen overnight or even in moth or so. But they will be out hopefully before the fall. But if you don’t want to wait that long or prefer to hear something for yourself before making a purchase, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll point you to your closest dealer.

Endeavor Reference Edition
Featuring advanced speaker components often found in systems many times our price:
  • Anodized aluminum woofer cones, Kevlar midrange, and damped Beryllium dome tweeter to ensure highest level of sonic transparency possible.
  • REAR AMBIENCE RETRIEVAL DRIVER: To match the transient response and tone quality of the superb front tweeter, we have employed a 75mm ribbon tweeter driven by a Neodymium magnet system for the lowest distortion and widest frequency range we have measured from a 75mm ribbon.
  • Top-class measurements with lowest distortion/coloration in its price range.
  • Linkwitz-Riley crossover filters ensure correct phase coherence and timing.
  • Connections: WBT Next-Gen Gold Bi-Wire binding posts.
Woofers: Two 175mm anodized aluminum coned woofers. Double-stacked magnets provide fast transient response and great dynamics. Faraday ring-type motor/voice coil, cooled with aluminum phase plugs and vented motors for low distortion

Midrange: 165mm Kevlar coned high performance midrange unit with Faraday ring motor/voice coil, phase plug provides linear response and low distortion. Top-class design & sound.

Midrange Loading: Tapered transmission line for low coloration and high dynamic range

Treble Unit: An advanced metal dome tweeter using a Beryllium substrate with ceramic damping layer to eliminate harsh sound quality. Driven by an FEA-designed Neodymium ring magnetic system, the rear wave is absorbed by a specialized rear chamber filled with fiberglass. This new tweeter has the lowest measured distortion of any dome tweeter on the market, cost-no-object.

Voicing Information: The Endeavor Reference Edition is a highly accurate reference quality loudspeaker that was carefully voiced to sound like a musical instrument rather than a “sterile” facsimile. The bass range is extremely potent, yet so quick as to not overload your listening room. The depth, image focus and dimensionality are top-class.

Specifications
FREQ RESP: 28Hz - 22KHz
SENSITIVITY: 89dB @ 1w/1m
IMPEDANCE: 4ohms
REC. MIN. POWER: 60 watts

Congrats, Damon and Leif! The SE is IMO a pinnacle achievement at its price point. Bringing its goodness to a wider audience? Wow. :D

Thank you Tony, much appreciated. We are very excited about the Endeavor Reference Edition and how it lowers the barrier of entry to this level of performance.

Maurice Jeffries here, brother. Great news! Now, how about an Endeavor ULTRA featuring the same cabinet, or one a bit larger but with the same trapezoid shape, boasting a full suite ULTRA drivers, a new machined outrigger assembly with Critical Mass footers, upgraded wiring, the works. Heard a $40K speaker w/paper drivers recently, these driven by $360K worth of front-end gear that, while very musical, didn't offer nearly the resolution, detail, air, and precision of the Endeavor SE. Just sayin', bruh!

That sounds interesting...

Is the Endeavor Reference currently in production? The speaker is not show on the new website. Also the link to reviews of the Endeavor SE is broken.

The Endeavor Reference Edition is in production, it's our newest model in fact. Unfortunately we launched a new website and it appears we're missing a few links and pages. Sorry about that. Thanks for the heads up.
