The iPhone 5 is the worst phone I have ever owned.

Andre,

I don't see a point in sticking with it. Why don't you move back to Blackberry? I'll buy your iPhone 5. I'll even trade you for the Blackberry of your choice.

PS: this is a serious post, I'm not joking.

Not gonna happen. :) If I dump it my wife will get an upgrade from here 4S.

Ultimately, the high resolution touch screen is the major reason for battery drain. No way around it.

Actually it's also the LTE. On an Android phone you can actually see the breakdown of the power consumption. Right now I am not in an LTE area, so the phone defaults to 3G - so I can't show you the stats. But when I am in the city, LTE is a major battery drain, even more than the screen.

A week ago I went on a bike ride with a friend. He was toting his brand new i5. Both of us stopped frequently and used maps to check our route. By the end of the 4 hour ride, his phone was at 17% and in the red zone. Mine still had 70% power, thanks to the larger battery and a number of power saving features I had implemented. He had to borrow my phone to call his wife :)

The iPhone 5 has a 1400mAh battery. FYI, the iPhone 4 had the same size battery, but the '5 has a larger screen, faster CPU, and (most significantly) ... LTE.
* If you want decent battery life from the i5, use it like the low-end device that it is. Turn off LTE, turn off GPS, turn off Wifi, dim the screen, and cross your fingers.

----- ^ What he just said. :b

Well, if anybody else wants to get rid of their iPhone 5, I'll buy it. Or, if anybody is able to help me get one, that'll work also :)

Thanks!
alexandre

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are battery life killers for all phones. My 4s' can go 3 days with these off.

I had to charge my phone twice today. No GPS, just a couple of hours of WiFi and
Zero phone calls. Just texts.

Something's wrong, Andre. I have the 4s and I use mine for biz...which means on a heavy day I get multiple calls an hour. I always go at least 8 hours before needing a charge and sometimes more.
Young man, Go ye to the Apple store and talk to a Genius at the Bar.

I guess I have no choice. I still say the Emperor has No Clothes. :)

Looks like Andre spent two hours streaming videos. :p

Choose the phone where the Empress has no clothes. LOL.

Battery life on all smartphones is frustratingly short. And on some days, like yesterday, it only got me through half of a day before the battery warning screen came on. In fairness, I should say the phone was being used for 4 hours non-stop using a note-taking app. It made me realize that a second battery is a must for me.
