The Wrecking Crew

Standing in the Shadows of Motown

Please do not forget the Funk Brothers - keyboardists Earl Van Dyke, Johnny Griffith, and Joe Hunter; guitarists Joe Messina, Robert White, and Eddie Willis; percussionists Eddie "Bongo" Brown and Jack Ashford; drummers Benny Benjamin, Uriel Jones, and Richard "Pistol" Allen; and bassists James Jamerson and Bob Babbitt.
"Standing in the Shadows of Motown" was a great documentary about the Funk Brothers. They played on more number-one records than The Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys combined.

Saw 'The Wrecking Crew' awhile ago in San Diego with Director Denny Tedesco introducing the film and answering questions from the audience afterwards.
Enlightening.
Now, I'd like to learn more about the Funk Brothers -- maybe, their documentary is on NetFlix. Thanks for mentioning it, zz :)
