Hi everyone,

I am currently selling my VAC 30/70 monoblocks for $6000. They were went through by VAC back in December and given a clean bill of health. The amps can either come with a set of tubes with VAC with a bunch of hours or if I get my asking price, a set of Shuguang 300B tubes with maybe 75 hours on them. I actually prefer the VAC tubes but it could be because the Shuguangs are not fully broken in yet.

Serial numbers are 913401 and 932801 and were built in 1999. Both started their lives as Renaissance 30/30 amps that were sent to Kevin to be made into the 30/70 Mk III.

These are said to be one of Kevin Hayes' finest, and perhaps the best triode amp ever made. The 300B is a magical tube that rarely is used for high power. The results give me goosebumps: accuracy, a deep 3 dimensional soundstage, a mid range that I haven't seen rivaled by any other amplifier. The 70 watts class A power per channel is impressive and never failed to drive any speaker I used with ease. It can also be set to 0 feedback, where I got the best results. I am including the supplied VAC 300B tubes, as I found these to be the best option. They are not new but sound fantastic. I do have a set of Shuguang treasure tubes, too, that I could include instead if the asking price is met. 6SN7 tubes I am using are Sylvania 6SN7GTB Black T Plate Chrome Dome and RCA 6SN7GTB. I think these are a great combination!

Details: The unit is self-biasing and rated at 70wpc would be a conservative statement. Amps weight around 78 lb each and I will use a separate box for the tubes but have the boxes sent from VAC for the amps.

I have an eye open for Ayre MXR monoblock to try and could be open for trades.

If you have any questions, Please don't hesitate to ask!

Best regards,
Stephen
