I'verified asked that question on another thread and still haven't gotten an answer, so I'll bump this one for both of us.:)

That is cold cathode neon. I got little 6" bars off of Ebay and stuck them on with Blutac. On my turntable I took some rubber hose, split it and wrapped it around the light tube. The hose diameter is smaller than the tube to it stay's open about 1/4". That way the light only comes out through the slit and does not light behind the table.
