Some nice tracks on this one. The sound quality is pretty good too.

Ha! Maneige... Know them well, thanks :D
Lovely stuff... The french-canadian region had a wonderful prog scene in the 70s. I like just about everything out of that time/place.
Just recently I had the honour of introducing a canadian friend to that scene, I kid you not :) Here are some of my faves:

You Sir have excellent taste, and yes, the Quebec Prog scene was huge and of outstanding quality.

Thanks, Johnny :)

Another good jazz recommendation

The Coalition "Naked Movies"

http://undertheradarcds.blogspot.com.br/2015/10/the-coalition-usa.html
http://jazztimes.com/articles/16193-naked-movies-the-coalition

CD can be found cheap. Unfortunately, no vinyl.
Recording is pretty solid, doesn't sound vintage, but it's not slick at all.

Their album title is rather unfortunate, as it makes it hard to search on Youtube for sound clips :)
But they're available on iTunes and Spotify (not Tidal, though)

Fred Kaplan over at Stereophile just did a nice write up on the new Dave Douglas album, Brazen Heart.

To be honest, I haven't kept up with his output since being introduced to him via John Zorn's Masada Quartet, nearly twenty years ago. The first album I bought of his was this, which I loved:

But after spending an hour and a bit with it, I can heartily say Brazen Heart is everything I loved about his earlier work, and rekindled my desire for more. Sonics are warm and dry, too, if you happen to care about such things.

Now listening to this, which admittedly, doesn't quite belong here, but reminds me why I spent hours scouring through the back pages of The Wire in the hope of finding any of his CDs in stock with someone who spoke English.

Jeff Hamilton Trio Red Sparkle (CD rip) and Karrin Allison's Many a New Day with Kenny Barron and John Patitucci a 16/44.1 from Qobuz. 2 superb recordings.

Amir (+ others),

For prog CDs, look no further than the prog mafia, my friends Ken & Steve

The two best mail order shops for this genre, bar none. Been a fan (and customer) for 20 years or so now...
Ken does lots of metal too, and Steve does weird jazz and avant stuff as well.

Ray Brown, Monty Alexander & Russell Malone - Telarc CD

'Nuff said.

Here. Now. Forever.

Sweet Georgia Peach- Russell Malone. CD rip. Sensational music and sonics.

Thanks Joe! I need to get that one. I just saw the Russell Malone Quartet a few weeks ago. They were outstanding.

Ken
