That certainly wasn’t my experience. I quickly replaced my Schick with an Analog Instruments Siggwan which sounded much better to my ears. Both 12” arms. To be fair, my Schick was an early version; I bought it maybe a year or two after it was first introduced. Maybe there have been improvements since then.
Fully serviced, yes. I still have it, one of a select few pieces I refuse to part with. Presently, I have an Accuphase E-360 in its place. Another keeper, I guess.

You see, people's perceptions of sound are so different. I'd rather buy a 10.5" schick tonearm with a graphite headshell ( in black)than, say, a Graham Phantom. It simply offers more stability in the sound my opion.

If you don’t have an aversion to valves ? I would highly recommend acquiring a Sansui AU-111 integrated, sporting very fine Hashimoto mains and output transformers.
