Why do you read audio reviews?

Today, audio reviews are about stroking egos of the designers. It's kind of like having the guy who lost in the first round of the tennis tournament share the winner's trophy with Rafael Nadal after the French Open.

I think what audio reviewers are missing is someone like Mary Carillo or Simon Cowell... Someone who is truthful to the point of being cruel, even putting friendships and relationships in jeopardy to deliver the truth to the reader. If the product sucks, it should be called out as such! I am sure the rag circulation would then pick up and that writer's work will be in high demand.
