For almost a month, we've had the great room/listening room torn up as we are laying new wood floors. We sold the old furniture and the new stuff is not here yet. It may be another couple weeks until I can listen/view anything in this combination theater/listening space. This has NOT been easy, as the music is my greatest escape from the commotion of life.

Going to start setting up my new Adona Corp. rack system and moving the system back into the room soon. Seems like years......

Hello, Lee. Always remember this...Good things come to those who wait. :)

Tom

I feel for you my friend. I've definitely been there. Don't worry. When everything is up and running again, you'll be surprised how easily you'll forget the wait!

The worst version of this I had was on a car trip. The stereo in my car all of a sudden stopped working when we got to our destination. No sound whatsoever. It was pure torture for hours on end coming home listening to road noise and nothing else.

I think that is why high performance headphones were invented. An ipod with an Ultrasone Edition 8 is surprisingly "audiophile". A Stax is even better.

+ 1 ...

Been listening through High Performance Headphones for two years and have continued to enjoy music immensely. Headphones require a re-adaptation. They also are very educative. You will learn to listen better when confronted (that's the word) to headphones. Headphone listening can make your system better: You learn to recognize your rooms flaws and deficiencies, many you may have grow to accept or even like without noticing the way they detract from the musical message or mask musical information ...

The Pantheon of headphones is being re-written.. HiFIMan and Audeze are the real deal and surpass the old stalwarts in many ways. I have compared the HifiMan 500 to several top flight headphones (Ultrasone, Beyer, Senheiser, Stax, Grado) ... The HiFiMan remain my favorite headphone .. Hard to drive but a gem ... The Audeze LCD-2 is similar in sound but looks better ... I prefer the HiFiman and the price is good too <$700 and the lower models are not that far behind ..
