I've never used any Pass preamp, after reading the manual again - yes there is no power on/off switch.
It's looks like it's always on, so to turn it off one must unplug the AC power cable.

So what switch were you referring to that looks like it cost $5?

I was too fast there, the switch behind the big wheel is looking like a $5 Alps encoder instead.

The encoder sends a signal to the Muses ladder dac, and then both Alps pots move, and that without a motor?

The Alps is not the volume control but a balance for the 2 preamp output then the XP30 is used for biamping.
