Well I purchased a pair of speakers without listening to them the other day. Lol could be a mistake but thought they were tradeable if I didn't like them. Anyhow they are YBA Gala reference speakers made in the early 2000s. They were build in Italy by a small manufacturer silco. Has anyone heard these? If so what was your opinion. I am having them recapping done and putting in furutech binding posts. They came with banana only. They are the mini monitor s with the sub units.I can find very little online but the dealer told me they needed some room and they were not a near field listening speaker also that they threw a large sound stage. Talked to one of his techs and asked him about the outboard cross over and the wire coming out of it. He had a look and said the wire from it and internally was a Vanden hull product. The out board cross over the caps were very cheap and the soldering job was very bad. Any how we talked about upgrading those caps and his suggestion was clarity caps. I went with that suggestion. And he took a look at the connectors and I was thinking either the furutech binding posts or the mundorf binding posts. Asked what he thought I have been a Fanboy of everything furutech I have bought so far so he didn't have anything bad to say so that is the way I am going to go. So when they are done they will palletized them and they will be sent ltl across the country. Since my wreck I cannot lift much anymore lol something I took great pride in I am thinking I will have to get someone to carry them down. The boxes are supposed to beade of aluminum cement and lead in some kind of sandwich. They look like they are somewhat of a set of power piggies. 84 db at 4 ohms. That should make the amps at least flex a bit of muscle. Any thoughts are appreciated. Regards Tom
