Miscast!

This is a good list, Jack, though, while Keanu Reeves is dull as toast most of the time, he somehow works for me in The Matrix. Everything works for me in The Matrix. Nothing works for me in the sequels.

Kevin Costner - its easier to come up with a list in which he seems like the right choice, and that would be Bull Durham.

Roger Moore -- licensed to do hair, maybe.

Dick Tracy, Batman Forever, Godfather III...these are such bad movies that no one is good in them. Hell, Pacino couldn't save Godfather III.

Tim

Oh, I loved the Matrix. Keanu was second choice if I recall. Unfortunately, River Phoenix died. :(

Anne Rice wanted Daniel Day Lewis to play Lestat. He declined and Cruise wanted it badly.

Winona Ryder got sick, FFC said "Hey, my sister is there already so....." :D I still think it could have been a good movie. Hard to feel the sense of loss when all the heirs (Sonny's bastard son and Michaels children) were so unconvincing. Godfather was the ultimate "pass the torch" movie. Oh and that guy with the permanent sun tan to play Consiglieri in place of Tom Hagen? Puh-leeeeeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also think Batman Forever is another movie no actor could save but Clooney played campy bat to the hilt. The only thing worse he could have done worse was play with the nipples on his costume.

Jackman as Wolverine? Too good looking IMO. That and his Broadway persona.

I rather liked Di Caprio in the Aviator. As J.Edgar, Bill is right. That's up there with John Wayne as Ghengis Khan!

Also agree with Frantz. Don Cheadle as Man of War? The guy in Red Tails was a much better fit.

Some more

Bram Stoker's Dracula - Jonathan Harker - Keanu as an english man? Downey Jr. he is not. Dude, where are the stakes? Awesome!

Ghost Rider - Ghost Rider - Nicolas Cage

Island of Dr. Moreau - Dr. Moreau - Nobody but nobody wanted to see Vito Corleone in a Moo Moo. Nobody!

Underworld 1 and 2 - Michael - I wont even bother to look up his name. How can a guy be that buff but be so weak?

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - Freddie Benson and Dr.Shefhaussen - Steve Martin and Michael Caine. Okay this suffers only because it was a remake and Brando and Niven did it a million times better.

Troy - Paris and Menelaus - Bloom and Gleeson

Terminator 3 - John Conner - Nick Stahl

Terminator 3 is abominably bad ... Youwould have put River Phoenix (how good this kid was) in the role and it would have been a bad movie ... This movie is one of the wors movie ever .. Miscast .. That movie should not have been made .. What a waste of film or electrons however it was made .. Of people time .. Okay end of rant ..

New rant .. Ghost Rider .. who in the world wrote that script? Is there an actor alive or dead who could have saved this movie from itself (end of shorter rant)

Don't get me wrong, Costner has been in some great movies (as has Keanau Reeves). But there are only a few movies either one of them have been in that I can't imagine someone else doing better.

And Daniel Day Lewis would have been a freekin' awesome Lestat. Man. That's an opportunity lost. One of my favorite vampire movies as is. Could have been one of my favorite movies, period, with Lewis.

mhhh.. Daniel Craig is doing an excellent job as Bond .. He looks like a badass, of the kind no one would want to mess with. Yet, not a mindless brute but a capable, intelligent strong and fierce MF, excuse my French .. Not the buffoonery of Roger Moore who always gave the impression of mocking the audience. Sean did look like a dangerous guy at times , at others too much of a gentleman .. Craig looks polite while looking like someone, you'll drop in the middle of the worst shantytowns and have the local worried, because he looks also quite ready to blow anybody's head off if there is the slightest need for it ... or not ... He may be the best I have seen for the role and ...

Yet to me, Sean is one of the greatest actor ever ... You share the screen with him at your perils .. Few actors can even begin to fill the screen that way ... while being versatile enough to fill a wide range of roles as James Bond however and putting aside the nostalgia Craig is so far the best IMHO.

I think that it is Battleship Potemkin by Eisenstein, which is about one of the Russian revolutions, I think.

You are correct Sir!! Some Movie buffs here
