I seem to remember a time when journalists felt their job was to inform the readers, and did some rudimentary fact checking instead of just acting as a promotion channel for commercial entities. That might of course just be an effect of the "things were better when I was young" reality distortion field.
Think the key words are "major label." Sure several others have; remember couple of years ago Bill Schnee announcing a new label offering DSD downloads of new artists. Same for the others that come immediately to mind.
It has more than 300 releases in 22 years, with 163 SACD's. Its download site has way more than 200 downloads available. And for the last almost two years, also has more than 140 DSD downloads, including many DSD multi-channel, all of them native DSD. I'd suggest Channel Classics has more DSD downloads available than all other DSD download sites combined.

Mostly yes, but with a nod to modern composers and music. A very interesting and great selling Philip Glass solo harp transcription of Metamorphosis as an example.
Got that part.....Pete Rose! But yeah, baseball is kinda down on my list of sport preferences. Cricket is better, even though it's as non-eventfull, but I like the Tea & Crumpet stops they have when they want.
I agree, and I'm happy for the publicity. It's a tide that raises all the DSD boats. And Chad's download service addresses a market segment long under served in the DSD SACD and download biz. Building awareness and volume by offering re-mastered popular music will help all this niche industry, IMO. Hi-Rez computer audio is just starting, and has lots of opportunities, especially if the public gets behind it.
speaking of DSD files, I've been swamped for the past month for a label trying to get them out. Love this new Pyramix 8.1.8 though. Makes my job so much easier!
I couldn't agree more Bruce! Now if they'd only implement Mark Donahue's request for a group function in DSD Render. Having to do them individually, watching the clock while one finishes to start the next is a real bore. But it's still MUCH faster than the real-time equivalent in Sonoma.

I heard about this a few days ago....and it's great news for everyone as Chad has better access to great recordings than anyone. so anyone who was on the fence on dsd downloads just got a good reason to get off the fence and jump in the pool.
personally; I have around 3-4 terabytes of dsd files and listen to them all the time. I also listen to PCM hirez too. if you get a chance to enjoy some dsd downloads you will get hooked easily. I can listen to them all day long....they sound analog to my ears relative to the very nice PCM files which are not quite as analog and real sounding in comparison.
I see this event as a watershed moment in the expansion of server based dsd listening.
