Just installed the latest KR Preamp last night, the P 135. As someone familiar with the Lampi sound (my brother uses a GG) I can say it will surely float the boat of anybody that loves true triode sound. Since the KR 45 tubes are brand new and require a lot more hours of run in time before I can make a full assessment, Keith was kind enough to drop of some NOS Sylvania 45s. It was with the latter that I assessed the circuit's performance. Incredibly fast, full and layered while remaining very fluid. The tone is magically pure. It transformed the system whose amps are the baby Kronzilla KT120 amps. I will bring up the big daddy DX MkIIs shortly. I will also try rolling with a pair of RCA 45s and a pair of Cunninghams. Those looking to take their KR amps to the next level should absolutely try this very affordable (relatively) little wonder pre. I am keeping this unit for myself and have ordered more. The caveat is that the output V is 1.5. For those with power amps whose input sensitivity requires more than this to reach full potential, I strongly, strongly recommend an in home audition first.

That little bugger (it's really a tiny piece of gear) absolutely took me by surprise and sounded MUCH better than I anticipated.

Do you have experience with the Kronzilla Dual Mono-block Amplifier DM's and DX's? What is (technical and sound wise) the difference between them?

As far as I understand, in the DX (100 wpc) the tubes are driven harder than with the DM (70 wpc), otherwise the amps are identical.
If you don't need 100 wpc, I would go for the DM. Because they are true class A amps, they always go full throttle, even though you might not need all the watts. The replacement tubes are quite expensive, if you listen many hours (as I do), you should take that into consideration.
And people say the lesser watt models sound a tiny bit better.

I know right? The little guy is crazy good. It's not something one would expect by just looking at it. When I say little guy I mean it literally. I think its just 14 or 15 inches wide and less than a foot deep. After I try them with the DX2s I'm going to try them with other amps I have on hand to see how they translate. This might be one of the biggest bangs for the buck. That goes for the tube rolling too.
Hi Micro, no experience with DMs. Given our high ambient temperature here DXs are the popular choice. The extra 30wpc makes them just that little bit more versatile too. Come to think of it, nobody has ordered the DXL either.
They were playing it on Maggie 1.7 at Windsor. Think Descent audio distributes it
