The natural companion of the Lamm ML3 arrived today, I could not resist listening before straightening and ranging everything, even is such poor conditions - yes, I know thick undercarpet and wheeled platforms are not Vladimir Lamm vision of audio racks. :) All I can say for now is transients, palpable, space and 3D. BTW, it measures perfectly!

What are you driving, Francisco? Did you get the new XLFs?

What do the Lamms put out before clipping? About 10 watts or so?

Wow congrats!

Now you only need to get the MSB Select II DAC. Or the Wilson Audio WAMM Master Chronosonic :)

Fantastic, Micro. What a superb collection you have. I know how meticulous you are in setup, and you will no doubt be fastidious and exacting as always. And it will absolutely be well worth it, for you have magnificent components that are truly a system.

the Lamm website spec is 30 watts into 4, 8, or 16 ohms.

the Stereophile review lists 32 watts.

or you could read the measurements section of that review for more info relative to where you determine clipping.

https://www.stereophile.com/content...nature-monoblock-power-amplifier-measurements

I have checked my system with the XLF using a calibrated track - at volumes I seldom use (and not for more than three minutes) the peak ML3 voltage output at the 4 ohm tap is equivalent to 14 W peak in 4 ohm. I thinks I will not have clipping problems before my ears clip.

Serious audiophiles best friend - with the help of a few quality straps!

Believe it or not I took the VTL Siegfrieds out of the boxes to my kistening room alone in less than half an hour - fortunately there are no stairs!

I already have the DCS Vivaldi and the WAMM is not compatible with the ML3's. :)

In the years I have owned the ML3/LL1 I have only heard it clip once and I play at realistic levels ( sorry DaveyF)

Congratulations on your new gear Francisco. Having heard Lamm in Steve's system, I'm sure you are smiling constantly as you listen. Enjoy the time together.

Steve, LOL. I don't think you play at anything like 'live' levels ( Thank goodness!) If you go up on stage and play at a 'live' concert level ( which BTW, i always say is a great experience ( if you can get on stage..even if you aren't playing an instrument) ---you really would need ear plugs ( if you value your hearing that is). I remember at your place that you weren't playing too loudly at all ( at least when I visited). Nice volume level, but not unpleasant....as it would be if you were at the 'live' event without earplugs. ( Obviously depending on the type of music...although you would be surprised at how loud even a concert band or orchestra can get when you are up close and personal). Realistic and similar to live--well no. More listenable in the home..yes.IMO.:)
