how's the new ride treating you a few months later?

I drove a C63 the other day - but decided I'm still an M-car man. Great motor, awesome exhaust, and well appointed interior - but doesn't really handle in M or P-car land. I'd say they are two different buyers, multiple flavors in a great sports car market.

As such, I am looking at a potential M3 purchase at year end. Some smokin' year end deals out there.

I'd check out the Mustang GT350 and Camaro ZL1 too... I recently met a guy with a GT350 that said his previous cars were Porsche and BMW M cars, he likes his GT350 best.

They are definitely faster than BMW's M cars and probably will depreciate a lot less too.

Nice! I think some cars, like the awd Porsches, will beat the GT350 on tighter tracks but overall the GT350 will crush that Porsche on most tracks. My STi will beat it on any surface other than dry pavement but that does not mean my STi is anywhere close...

Anyways, to have comparisons with a car like the C4S says a lot for the GT350! In the past comparing a Mustang with a 911 would be ridiculous... If I was in the market for a <$100k fun car that isn't totally impractical the GT350 and ZL1 would be very strong contenders.

I would already own a GT350 if they had a DCT or equivalent auto tranny - but I can't walk, so Ford has been dead to me :)

and to that I'd add the Corvette Grand Sport and if you didn't go nuts with options the ZO6.

Z06 for sure if practicality wasn't an issue... not that a GT350, ZL1 Camaro or BMW M-car are all that practical either but they do have more room. The new Z06 looks amazing though!

Dave, what you need to realize is this, with respect to room............... name me one other two seater sports car in the world that can match the performance of a Corvette and be able to carry two full size sets of golf clubs as easily as it can !!

I don't think the C7 has aged well. The C6 looks better to me.

that's just like your opinion man ;)

I had the C6 before and initially wanted to buy the C6 Z06 427 Edition convertible and when I went to look at the car, the "new" C7 stood beside the C6 and I immediately knew that I wouldn't buy the "old" car.

The C6 Z06 is the newest Vette I've driven, it was amazing but I'd agree the new cars look nicer, more exotic and modern. I'd love to get to drive the new '18 Z06!

I was considering selling my STi and getting a Chevy SS when they were on sale for the low 40s, I doubt the cars will depreciate much either. Despite the 4 doors the performance in the snow would have been questionable and fuel economy is seriously bad. But now it's December 15th and I still have the summer tires on my STi, looking at the weather it's getting colder... but I may keep the summers on through December! I live near Boulder, CO and in the past winter tires have gone on mid to late October.

of course - to each their own. i just think they tried to make the Vette into an italian styled thing and it didn't work.

..the magazines say 0 to 60 “under 4 secs” for the GT350....3.8 for the M4 with the competition pkg....the Ford is faster?

With EZ PASS and cashless tolling, front license plates will become required everywhere.

It's time to get over it. :D

The car manufacturers should just make a slot for it in front just like the rear.

Or continue to live in state with no Toll Roads. (just crappy roads)

Overall I think it will set faster times on most tracks, with more and more advantage to the Ford as speeds get higher. Wouldn't be surprised if an M2 would beat it on a tight track/autocross type event though. Every car has it's strengths and weaknesses...

while truly subjective, of the 'plastic' era cars I'd love a C6 rear on C5 front. Regardless the refinement has improved noticeably with each suceeding generation.

I own quite a few sport cars but never an American car. This Dodge Wild Cat Redeye is my first. It is really big. Has close to 800hp yet drive very easy. A good comuter. The ride is as comfy as a Cayene. Dont know why the tank is only 60liters when the car drinks like a camel. It has subwoofers too. ;)
