hello
have space for a third arm on my slate 301 plinth, but there are only two armboards and I´m reluctant to drill a hole in the plinth itself
what other arms than Viv Laboratory and Dynavector can be placed directly on the plinth, without having to drill a hole in it?
up to 10" I guess
one of the intended carts will be Rowland Complement
btw there´s no shelf place outside the plinth for a separate pod either....

The Acoustical System Aquilar tonearm can be fixed with one single 5mm hole.
not exactly "no hole" but close by :)

What's wrong with the Dynavector?

how about an 'L' bracket attached to the side or bottom ('U' bracket?) that would 'hug' the plinth but no holes in the top surface.

you might need to have a way to 'tension' it against the top surface to remove slop. or fit the plinth profile perfectly.

i'm in the same situation with my much loved Saskia slate Plinth. the way the Saskia plinth is laid out there is no space to add another arm unless i attached an arm board out the left side in some way. i've thought about it but not seriously. i have little shelf space for an arm tower.

not such a stupid suggestion, only that on my plinth it would have to be another 12" and to the left it would end up on the edge of the slate...one solution then would have to be in front down left, but kind of clumsy position....
first 12 on edge left, second front clumsy, third Dynavector

ok?
I´d use some heavy duty double sided tape to fix the 505 to the slate...
sticks like H#%% and provides some slight damping too

some even claim the DV-505 has better bass for some unknown reason
what do you imply by saying : same type of sound?
I mean that the sound difference between the the two models is insignificant, it's the same design and basically the same tonearm with minor differences so they sound the same. I didn't detect a difference in bass, 505 with the flat base is easier to source and a better deal.

Can you try a rigid float sample pre purchase?
