@Mike Lavigne … Did you not find it at the least incongruous that speakers of the dimensions and obvious db capability of the Aries Cerat Aurora were allocated a broom cupboard whereas other obviously less room demanding speakers were allocated aircraft hanger rooms !

Hard to argue. But the sound was very nice, obviously they could not let loose.

not sure how spaces are allocated, I imagine it’s a matter of longevity. The new Aries Cerat distributor is the new guy. I met Robert Do and had a nice chat. Really enjoyed it. My guess he will fix the room thing somehow for next time.

figured I would post pictures, some posts will have multiple rooms, some just a single room. Then over the weekend as I gather my thoughts I will add them to the pics.

At least everyone can see where I went and get a feel for things.

Thanks for the photos Mike. Looking to read your opinion on the new Avantgarde Trio G3.

In my experience trade shows are alike… you choose the space you want/can afford. First come first served, and if you exhibited in the past and had history with the show you had better choices. Many this year may have chosen a wee-little room just to see if post-pandemic it was worth even being there. The cost for display space at a show can be quite high, and many have strict union rules as to movement of pieces in and out. If it has to be shipped and delivered to the hotel, then union rules kick in for movement from the dock to the display location, then there is storage fee for crates, etc. It is all a major marketing expense for the mfg, distributor, and / or dealer.

Shows my little company attended were often a couple grand for a 10ft x 10ft space. After shipping, union fees, travel, etc the cost to attend was typically $7500 - $10k. That was just me attending, no employees or extra staff. And that was years ago!

Hi Mike, you're welcome to visit room 594. We're showing the new Cessaro Opus 1 loudspeakers with all TW Acustic frontend/electronics.
Your wish……

my best musical moment of Axpona so far was this album…..played in this room. Mono on a Miyajima Infinity Mono .7mil cart.

no surprise there. Jeff’s rooms always have the best music at shows.

Was in there first thing yesterday for a quick listen. The dynamics and vividness are breathtaking but the scale of the presentation are overblown. Probably the room, listening position, and size of speakers. it's like sitting in the mouth of the horn. you sit about 8-9 feet back of these large/tall horns/sub-horns on a low sofa with the sofa backed up against the wall.

went back this afternoon and spent 10 minutes in the sweet spot. Potential unlimited with the right room. They were using the OEM amps and would assume those can be bettered. I have minimal experience with big horns so factor that in my comments.

Mike, when I heard the Trios several years ago, I couldn't help but fall in love w the dynamics and speed. But the scale was like IMAX, on everything. At the end of the demo, tbh I felt a bit punch-drunk. It was kinda a nice feeling, but felt way too adrenalized for everyday listening. I didn't get anywhere near this excessive scale on the other horns I unreservedly admire, Cessaro Liszts and Audiophile Bill's bespoke creations.

That AC Cerat speaker is the ugliest thing i've ever seen. At $137k, do better.
Some of the speakers at this show are downright scary (even beyond ugly)
